home sweet home

In Finland, needed two matches to get in. Our first match we played a Finland team and won, our second match we played against a Spain team and lost in two :( What makes this lost worse is that there were 2 lucky loser draws. ( Meaning that 2 teams from the main draw had pulled out, and it our names had to be pulled out of a bowl). So the first draw was us and Canada.......and canada got picked. Second draw, was us and Great Britain......and GB got pulled out! Sign or what? What are the odds of our names not getting pulled out twice, both times 50% chance! So we both took a deep breath and walked out and said, "okay, this is a sign." So we both took the 11:45pm ferry out of Aland, that night to Helsinki. Arrived in Helsinki at about 10 am, went straight to the aiport, and tried to change our flight. We got a flight out that day to London. Once we got to London we tried to get on a flight that night out to LAX, but there were no more flights. So we took a flight out the next morning which would get us in to LA at about 2:40pm. So we had a night to stay in London. Diane and I called our friend Guy Perry who lives in London, but is one of those guys that is always traveling and we didnt think we would actually get to see him.. But what do you know?....we call him and he is in town! So that just made our night stay on London even better. We were actually just going to sleep in the airport since hotels in London were so expensive, but Guy was not going to have that, so he helped us out with a hotel! We had a very lovely time, drinking wine, eating chicken, talking with a British accent, watching people snooting, and talking fun pictures! Then next morning we were on a stand by flight to LAX and got in, and here I am, sitting on my couch, with my fiance and dog. Life is Grand!!!
Guy...i know you are reading this, so thank you, thank you, so much for our time London, you have no idea how much you are appreciated!

Hello!

My name is Lily Ann. I'm organizing a festival called FilAmFest in San Diego, CA. It will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007. I was able to get Chad and Kimo to commit to making an appearance and hang out for that day to promote their cause - I was wondering if the women's team would be interested in doing the same. I don't have your direct email - my apologies for attempting to get to you this way.

Please contact me at lilyannbv@yahoo.com at your earliest convenience. Check out our website- www.filamfest.com. Many thanks! Looking forward to hearing from you!

sincerely,

Diane & Heidi,

Welcome Back!

What is your schedule for playing in the next FIVB events?

I am passing the word about you two in addition to Chad & Kimo to other FILAM college students who are unaware of your efforts to qualify for the Olympics.

I hope its okay that they communicate with you directly. Some of these FILAM college students are studying Asian Americans and Filipino Americans. They may do an extra credit or project about you two.

Imua!!

Hey there Elroy......i don't know if you will read this, but we appreciate what you are doing for us....just you spreading the word about us, is a huge deal for us! Thank you sooo much. And tell the FILAM college students to not worry about communicating with us, we would love to help them out with extra credit work!

Diane & Heidi,

Have a question for you both.

I know the Editors of one of the local FILAM & Asian newspapers here in San Diego.

Is it okay if I provide them info about your progress and schedule so they can publish it in their local newspapers? They also want to publish your pictures, so would it be okay to copy some of the pictures from your blogspot and provide it to them?

Have a suggestion.

I've heard that Facebook is used by alot of FILAMs.

Facebook made the cover of Newsweek Magazine and is one of the fastest growing social networking sites.

If you both register and posts your info there as well. Potential goldmine for PR about your journey to Beijing.

I made the same suggestion to Chad & Kimo.

Elroy.....that would totally be fine for you to pass on the info to the papers. If you also look on FIVB site and look on the photo gallery on the tour stops, there are some actions shots of us also. We also have more, if you need any.
I know that Diane already has myspace and i have bebo, but we'll think about the facebook.
Maraming salamat ulit sa tulong mo! Ingat!
